Privacy Policy
Your data, plainly
Last updated: 3 November 2026
In short: Tork keeps what it needs to track your bike — your account, your bikes and parts, the rides you sync from Strava, and the photos and notes you add. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, nothing sold. Delete your account in the app and it's all gone.
Who we are
Tork is an iPhone app made by Yehor Kovalchuk, an independent developer in Chernihiv, Ukraine (“we”, “us”). We're responsible for your data in Tork. Contact: support@torkapp.app.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and how you sign in (Apple, Google or an email code). With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email — we then get a private relay address from Apple.
- The name you choose to show in the app.
- Your settings: units, language, default bike, reminder thresholds and notification choices.
What you add
- Bikes, parts, maintenance tasks and service history — including notes, costs and photos.
- Links you save to how-to guides.
Rides from Strava (if you connect it)
- With your permission, Tork reads your Strava profile's bikes (“gear”) and your activities, including private ones, so no ride is missed. For each ride we store its name, sport type, date, distance, moving and elapsed time, elevation gain, speeds, whether it was indoors, the bike it was ridden on and the device it was recorded with. A ride's route line (for its map) is kept for at most seven days; after that we fetch it from Strava again when you open the ride.
- Your Strava athlete ID and the access keys Strava gives us. These stay on our servers and are never shown in the app.
Notifications
- If you allow notifications, your device's push token and a log of which reminders we've sent, so you don't get the same one twice.
Feedback
- When you report a problem or send an idea: your message, an optional screenshot, the app version, your iOS version and iPhone model. It's emailed to us with your account email as the reply address, so we can answer.
What we don't collect
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics or profiling tools.
- No location from your iPhone — routes only come from the rides you sync from Strava.
- No payment details. Tork Lifetime is bought through Apple; Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether you own it. We don't store anything about the purchase.
We never sell your data or share it with anyone for their own use.
Why we use it
- To run Tork for you — showing your bikes and parts, counting wear from your rides, syncing Strava, sending the reminders you asked for (needed to provide the app).
- Strava and notifications — only once you turn them on (your consent; you can turn them off at any time).
- Support and safety — answering your messages, fixing bugs and keeping the service secure (our legitimate interest in running a working app).
Who processes it for us
We use a few providers to run Tork. They process your data only to provide their service to us.
- Supabase — our database, sign-in, photo storage and servers. Your data is stored in the EU (Ireland).
- Strava — the source of your rides, only if you connect it. Strava's own privacy policy applies to your Strava account.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, the map that shows a ride's route, and in-app purchases.
- Google — Continue with Google, if you use it.
- Expo — delivers our push notifications to Apple (it sees your push token and the notification text).
- Resend — sends sign-in code emails, and forwards feedback to us.
Some of these providers are in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, they protect it with the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- As long as you have an account. Rides you delete stop counting and are removed from view.
- If you disconnect Strava — in the app, or by removing Tork in Strava's settings — we give up our access and delete everything we got from Strava: the imported rides, the wear and odometer distance they added, and the Strava link on your bikes. Your bikes, parts and service history stay.
- Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) removes everything — account, bikes, parts, rides, photos, feedback and settings — disconnects Strava and revokes Sign in with Apple. We then email your account's address to confirm. Copies in our provider's encrypted backups are overwritten within a short period. Feedback emails already in our inbox are deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it — write to support@torkapp.app. Most of it you can already edit or delete in the app. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data travels encrypted. Each account can only reach its own data, photos are kept in private storage, and Strava access keys never leave our servers.
Children
Tork isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above — and tell you in the app if the change matters.
